Me, I’m still trying to get Windows 7 to work on my Acer Aspire One. And though that earlier attempt to install Windows 7 didn’t turn out well, I know in my heart that the real reason is just that there’s not enough disk space on my netbook (Windows 7 requires 9GB of hard disk space while my Acer Aspire One only has an 8GB SSD). I just have to vLite my Windows 7 beta ISO to make it a tad bit smaller. Also, I know that the latest BIOS and drivers for the Aspire One will work with Windows 7. See their links after the break if you want to download them.

And don’t forget to get the latest version of the Acer Aspire One BIOS here [download link]. Hope that helps.

I’ve got the 120gig hard-drive model with 512meg… although wireless “works” out of the box, the wireless light doesn’t come on and it keeps losing connection…. didn’t realise the latest drivers makes everything work though so i’m about to try that out!
Otherwise, 512meg of memory just isn’t enough… using lightweight programs like Chrome and Google Talk work fine, but anything else it immediately starts using the hard-drive, and grinds everything to a halt :(

I got an Aspire One with 1.5GB/ 160GB (great deal from Compusa currently at $199 refurb).
I also just added a 2GB SD card for readyboost, a little more oomph.
Installed Win 7, everything worked right out of the box including wifi. The only thing I’m missing is the touchpad scrolling feature and the ability to switch screen orientation/ portrait/ landscape with ctrl-alt-arrow. How did you get the video drivers to install? It says not for this OS version or something like that…
