Acer Aspire One still available after nearly two years in the market

I find the endless barrage of new netbook models each week quite tiring. Don’t you? But such movement in the market of consumer electronics is to be expected, and I know that. That’s why I was quite impressed to realize that one of the very first netbooks to ever be released, the Acer Aspire One, is still available from local retailers nearly two years from its initial release date.
Acer released the Aspire One in July of 2008, and it has gone through several transformations since then. Now we have the Acer Aspire One D260, set to come to the Philippines during Q3 of this year (any time now) and no doubt there are several new iterations of it still headed our way. PC Corner is currently selling the Acer Aspire One for as low as 15,000 Pesos with a 6-cell battery and a licensed copy of Windows XP. It’s quite a deal, since I bought my own Acer Aspire One in August of 2008 for the same price but mine only had a 3-cell battery.
Mine still works, and even though many new netbooks are going to come my way, I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of using it for casual mobile computing. You can check out Review Heaven for additional details about the Acer Aspire One.
